K6 Founder Ken Moyle Speaks at SXSW

Will Blockchain Make Lawyers Irrelevant?

AUSTIN, TX, March 12, 2018– ​ K6 Partners founder Ken Moyle will address blockchain legal issues at South by Southwest Wednesday afternoon in Austin, Texas. The session is entitled “Smart Contracts: Are We Getting Rid of Lawyers?”

Mr. Moyle will be Joined by panelists Tom Gonser, founder of DocuSign; Perianne Boring, CEO of Chamber of Digital Commerce; and Sergey Nazarov, co-founder and CEO of SmartContract. The event is part of a series of sessions on blockchain to be held during the coming week.

“The legal profession is going to be disrupted by blockchain technology,” Moyle said. “But that is not necessarily a bad thing for lawyers.”

​

Moyle will speak to the increasing need for the legal and technology experts to “start walking in each other’s shoes,” he said. “The ability to interpret and translate the languages of technology and law is going to play a crucial role in the development of ‘smart law.’”
