The K6 Principles*
TECHNOLOGY IS NEITHER GOOD NOR BAD; NOR IS IT NEUTRAL.
Implementing a technology solution will always have effects that reach beyond the problem it was intended to solve.
K6 understands that technology is not necessarily the solution to every business problem; and we also know that any technological change requires preparation and guidance to ensure it is used effectively.
INVENTION IS THE MOTHER OF NECESSITY.
Inventors and early adopters are the drivers of cultural change and have the patience to force a technology into a purpose before it becomes a universally useful alternative.
K6 consultants are early adopters, entrepreneurs and inventors with a mature view of the potential -- and limits -- of technology, helping our clients avoid acquiring "technology for the sake of technology."
TECHNOLOGY COMES IN PACKAGES.
As technology advances, it becomes ever more unlikely that one product or invention will satisfy all needs. Enterprise integrations, partners, ecosystems and consumer apps are examples of today's attempts to fill that gap.
K6 Partners will help sort through the confusion of conflicting vendor claims and overlapping functionalities, allowing you to remain focused on your mission, free of buzzwords and bias.
TECHNOLOGY-POLICY DECISIONS ARE DRIVEN BY NON-TECHNICAL FACTORS.
Disruptive technologies create dissonance and discord as they confront older policies and rules that were not designed for them.
K6 policy experts have a unique understanding of how your digital transformation will be affected by today’s regulatory environment, and how you can benefit from policy changes that may be coming in the future.
THE HISTORY OF TECHNOLOGY OFFERS PROFOUND INSIGHTS.
Knowledge comes from experience with the impact of technology decisions on businesses and their customers.
K6 draws from intimate industry knowledge to form the pattern recognition necessary to help you avoid common mistakes and to leverage best practices for a higher likelihood of success.
TECHNOLOGY IS A VERY HUMAN ACTIVITY.
Technology is merely the toolkit from which innovators and leaders have made vast improvements in the way we live in work.
The K6 philosophy includes emphasis on the human element of your digital transformation, we will help ensure your success. Every project involves change management and communication components that are essential to stakeholder acceptance and adoption of your program.
*This philosophy is derived from the “Six Laws of Technology,” attributed to Dr Melvin Kranzberg, a professor of the history of technology at the Georgia Institute of Technology and editor of Technology and Culture. We call these laws the Kranzberg 6, or "K6" for short.
